Every school year the world presents us with new challenges, both behavioral and emotional.  Meeting these challenges can be burdensome as we strive to teach academics and faith, yet we know this is part of the work God sets before us.  We will spend the day in learning and discussion examining unique tools for creating classroom, school, and personal environments that nurture emotional strength.  We cannot fix the world’s problems, we cannot prevent them from creeping into our classrooms and our lives, yet we know God’s power is at work within us.  This empowers us to be mentally healthy to inspire and be a more effective teacher for students and their families.  Set aside your prep work and join us for a day of building resilience for challenging times.

Kim Marxhausen is a nationally sought-after speaker and a Lutheran Early Childhood Educator of more than 30 years.  She recently completed a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and is now busy writing, speaking, teaching, and designing.  Kim has published two teacher resource books through Concordia Publishing House and is working on a new book for caregivers.  She currently writes a nationally distributed parenting newsletter for LCMS School Ministry.  You are welcome to check out her parenting blog at http://faithparent.marxhausen.net/
