Gadgets, Gizmos, and Laws of Motion Grades K – 8th
This unit is all about the fun of doing something with what you've built. From spinning tops and spin art models to catapults and swings, kids will love building and playing with their interactive, motorized creations! We introduce kids to physics, including Sir Isaac Newton's Laws of Motion, giving students a foundation for understanding concepts that they will delve deeper into in years to come. Bricks 4 Kidz® lessons explain terms like “inertia” and “mass” using simple words, and students test out Newton's Laws of Motion with models that illustrate these concepts. Don't miss out on this Bricks 4 Kidz® action-packed after school class!

Violin Lessons - CURRENTLY FULL
My name is Lauren Pulcipher, and I am excited to be teaching Suzuki violin lessons at St. Paul this year. I received my Master’s in violin performance and chamber music at the University of Michigan, and am a registered Suzuki Book 1 teacher. I am excited to teach the Suzuki method because I think it is a wonderful way to be introduced to the violin. Key components of the method include parent involvement and support, the opportunity to begin at a young age, peer learning in addition to individual lessons, and an emphasis on listening and repetition. I grew up a Suzuki student myself and I still use many of the skills I cultivated in my early education including problem solving, collaboration and appreciation for the act of learning.

Piano Lessons - CURRENTLY FULL
Grades K - 8
My name is Julie Pierce and I'm excited to be able to offer piano lessons at St Paul this year. I am a long time St Paul parent with my youngest child beginning fifth grade this year and I have an even longer history as a pianist, music teacher, choral director and singer. I received my degree in Music Education, with piano as my principle instrument, from the University of Michigan in 1992 and have been teaching piano, music directing and singing ever since.
I love teaching students to love music through the piano. Rather than teaching piano simply from a set method or curriculum, I prefer to cater to the musical needs of each child. I do like to use a standard method book or series as a guide, but I also draw from a wealth of musical resources outside the method books specific to each student's needs. In addition, I incorporate music theory & history, ear training and sight singing to fully round out the learning experience.
Learning the piano can be a great springboard to a lifetime experience with music! It would be a joy for me to be a part of that musical journey with your child.
