Elementary Education

SPAA2023_ASP_005

Welcome to our Elementary Program!

At St. Paul, we're dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching educational environment for our young learners. Our elementary program includes Kindergarten through 4th Grade students, setting the stage for a lifelong learning journey.

Our approach is unique. We offer two distinct kindergarten classes that seamlessly merge into one classroom per grade from 1st to 8th, fostering a sense of unity and community among our students.

Curriculum

Our early elementary students are offered an exciting, engaging curriculum that lays a solid foundation in all subject areas. Students explore and discover as they develop a love and passion for learning. Early elementary students also engage in a variety of additional classes, including technology, music, gym, art and library. Please explore the curriculum summaries below for our elementary grades. Or request information to learn more.

Academics

Our dedicated faculty strives to provide the appropriate educational settings and lessons to discover the strengths and needs of each student and work with your child as they develop academically. We desire that they succeed in the classroom and beyond. We integrate God's word into every aspect of our curriculum, from science and math to language arts and history, ensuring faith remains at the heart of our educational journey.

Standardized testing is only one tool that teachers use to assess student learning. The Northwest Evaluation Association - Measure of Academic Progress (NWEA MAP) Growth is administered to kindergarten through eighth-grade students during the school year. MAP Growth measures what students know, regardless of their grade level. It also measures growth over time, allowing teachers and parents to track student’s progress throughout the school year and across multiple years. St. Paul students match or exceed scores from the Ann Arbor public schools and score above the national average in all subjects and grade levels.
