Thank you for your interest in St. Paul Ann Arbor. We look forward to reviewing your application for our Kindergarten through 8th-grade classes. Please note that submitting your application does not guarantee admission. When your application is received, you will be contacted by the Director of Admissions. Admission is selective and based on several factors, and some classes have waiting lists. Please contact us if you have questions regarding the admission process.
Enrollment Process:
  1. Families are encouraged to schedule a tour and classroom visit prior to admission.
  2. Complete the application.
  3. Submit an official report card from the current school.
  4. Submit letter of recommendation (grades K-8).
  5. Academic testing will be conducted if necessary (grades K-8).
  6. Kindergarten assessment will be conducted for all students not enrolled in preschool at St. Paul.
  7. Schedule a family meeting with the principal.

Students applying for kindergarten must be five years old by September 1 of the year for which they are applying.

International Enrollment
St. Paul welcomes international admission for grades K - 8. We offer enrollment for full year and short term visiting scholar programs.
St. Paul Ann Arbor is a SEVIS-authorized I-20 school for the issuance of F-1 student visas.

International Admissions Requirements:

Students may apply at any time. Students will not be accepted until all documentation and a passing score on an English Language assessment have been submitted to the office.

  • Families or guardians are encouraged to schedule a tour and classroom visit prior to admission. Please contact the Director of Admissions, Elise Snapper, or fill out a Request Information form to schedule your tour.
  • Families must complete the online application by clicking this link: APPLY ONLINE
  • A copy of the student's passport and immunization records must be submitted to the office (translated if possible).
  • If available, translated transcripts should be submitted to the office.
  • Video Phone call with the prospective student is required before acceptance.
  • Student must pass one of the following English Language assessments. Scores must be submitted to the office. We accept the following tests; passing scores are listed:
    • TOEFL Jr. - 765
    • TOEFL Primary - 4 ribbons
    • iTEP Slate - 3.0
    • CEFR - A2 for elementary students, B1 for middle school students
    • PET - 60
    • CambridgeEnglish: Young Learners
I-20 Requirements:
  • A copy of the students' passport
  • Students address in their home country
  • Address where the student will be living in the US
  • Name of guardian
  • Dates student expects to stay in the US
  • Official documentation of proof of funds for schooling abroad
Tuition and Fees
  • $215 enrollment fee after student has been admitted.
  • Tuition: Additional $1,000 to the non member tuition rate for the year, to be paid in full at the beginning of the year.

Short Term Visiting Scholars -

Our teachers and students look forward to welcoming international students to enroll at St. Paul for portions of the school year. Students must enroll for a minimum of a month (four weeks). The cost for the month is $1,000. Students may stay longer than a month, with each additional week billed at $250/week. No other fees will be assessed, other than expenses incurred while attending, such as hot lunch or after-school care expenses. Students must apply online and they must meet minimum English Language Evaluation requirements.  Students must also provide the same documentation as all international students (please see above). SPAA Visiting Scholars are expected to be engaged in classroom academics and participate in school activities.

No, everyone is welcome at St. Paul Ann Arbor, regardless of church or religious affiliation.

Yes, we offer student care services for kindergarten through eighth-grade students. Our hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Room. Our fees are $5.25 per hour for the first child, $4.75 per hour for the second child, and $2.50 for every additional child.

 

 

Yes, St. Paul has a vibrant athletic program. The following sports are open to students beginning in 4th grade. Fall: Coed Cross Country and Girls Volleyball. Winter: Basketball (boys and girls) and girls Cheer—spring: Coed Track and Field.

The elementary and middle school day begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. Early dismissal days begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. The school office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday on all school days. Preschool schedules vary. Please feel free to call with any questions or concerns during office hours. Teachers are available after 3:30 p.m.; you may call the office and leave a message.

Yes, for elementary and middle school students. St. Paul Lutheran School is uniquely set apart as a Christian school. As such, we believe that a standard of dress contributes to a more positive school climate with a focus on academics, a feeling of community among all of our students, and an individual's ability to let one's personality shine through without the distraction of competitive clothing. The basic dress standard is pants, skirts, shorts, skorts, or jumpers that are blue, black, khaki, or stone colored. Shirts may be any color but must be turtleneck or polo style. There should not be any logos on the shirts except the official St. Paul logo.

Our students live in several counties, including but not limited to Washtenaw, Lenawee, Wayne, and Livingston, and a variety of cities, including Ann Arbor, Dexter, Chelsea, Walled Lake, Brighton, Northville, Livonia, Canton, Saline, Milan, Ypsilanti, Bellville, and Manchester. Therefore, bus services are not available to our students. Many families use carpools for transportation. The school office can assist you after enrollment with obtaining a potential carpool list.
